A Presumptive Eligibility Determiner (PED) helps people in New Mexico get health coverage and connect with helpful community resources. They can check if someone may qualify for temporary Medicaid coverage, which allows eligible individuals to receive health care while their full Medicaid application is being reviewed.

PEDs can also help people apply for Medicaid, renew their benefits, check their application status, and find other resources they may need, such as housing, food, behavioral health services, or help getting a driver’s license.
